Recently, we learned that the late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI requested not to invite President Joe Biden to his funeral. Word came out from the Vatican that they were not extending an official invitation to the White House, despite the fact that the man claims to be a devout Catholic.
Critics said this was connected to the ongoing controversy between Joe and his church. Numerous bishops have denied he and other Democrats the Holy Communion, over their far-left support of abortion. It seems the snub ruffled the so-called Catholic’s feathers. Because, after other heads of state paid their respects to the late pope, Biden has refused.
Now ends the final day for pilgrims to pay their respects to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, with Heads of State being among the estimated 200k to visit St Peter’s Basilica over the last three days. Listed among the world leaders were the presidents and prime ministers of Poland, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Hungary, and Slovenia, with royal families from Spain, Belgium, and Germany. Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni told Euro News that “if other heads of state or government come, they will do so in a personal capacity,” seeming to place the choice of attendance on the individual leaders — as seen by the number of leaders who have chosen to pay their respects — seeming to contradict Jean-Pierre’s assertions. Bruni confirmed to journalists that only two state delegations were “officially invited” to the funeral. [Source: Daily Wire]
It seems that the Vatican was encouraging heads of state to visit in a “personal capacity.” So, although they did not invite Joe Biden to attend the funeral, he could have still visited St Peter’s Basilica over the last few days to pay respect to Benedict, along with over 200,000 other Catholics. As well as leaders from Poland, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and beyond.
Instead, Biden did nothing. Apparently, he didn’t appreciate being snubbed by the Vatican and didn’t bother to visit at all. Uh… really, Joe? How can you keep pretending you are a good Catholic when you don’t even bother to show respect to a former pope? Literally, hundreds of thousands of Catholics made their way to Italy to honor the man.
But the President of the United States couldn’t find the time–without an official invitation to butter him up? Sounds like Joe is pettier than we thought. What does this say about his “faith” if he doesn’t do what is expected of him?
This is pretty typical of what we’ve seen from this man. Biden has long proven himself to be a bitter, self-centered, petty man. He bares grudges against politicians and even reporters who ask him tough questions. And for all his claims about “unity,” he’s done nothing but slander Republicans.
Not even the death of a pope is enough to make him ask like a grown-up.
