As California Got Buried, Governor Jetted off–Now, Residents are Fighting Back

So much for global warming. As winter started to wind down, large parts of our country were buried in one last storm. California, which long ago stopped supporting its infrastructure, got hammered by heavy snowfall. In some parts of the state, residents received ten feet of snow, leaving entire communities frozen still.

That kind of emergency requires coordination from state leaders. The governor, of all people, needs to be at his desk, working with various counties to ensure–among other things–power is still available. But where was Gavin Newsom during this blizzard? He was living it up on the beach!

The office of California Gov. Gavin Newsom told Fox News Digital that the Democrat has “returned to the state” after taking a “personal trip in Baja California” while residents were dealing with the aftermath of devastating winter storms that dumped as much as 10 feet of snow.

It remains unclear why Newsom opted to travel out of California during the storm situation, as well as after declaring a state of emergency in 13 counties, including Los Angeles, on Wednesday due to the weather. [Source: Fox News]

How interesting. A few years back, Democrats blasted Sen. Ted Cruz for traveling with his kids to Mexico during a winter storm in Texas. The senator quickly returned home, even though it wasn’t his role to offer support during the storm.

Meanwhile, the left is silent after the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, fled to the beach as a brutal storm buried much of the state with snow. As you might expect, a governor plays a much bigger role in these situations than a senator. Yet the left refuses to hold Newsom accountable.

While most of California’s residents were struggling to deal with this storm, Newsom was enjoying “a personal trip.” Call me crazy, but when you vow to serve the public as a governor, you put your personal life on hold when crises arise. Newsom knew that this storm was coming, yet he still abandoned his people to enjoy himself.

Much like Pete Buttigieg and many other Biden administration officials.

And residents are in no way pleased.

As crews hustled to clear snow-covered roads in the San Bernardino Mountains, many residents remained stranded Monday, frustrated at being cut off for more than 10 days and running low on food and medicine…

The slow pace of clearing roads has been a source of growing anger in mountain communities. Making matters worse, residents have endured gas leaks, fires and roof cave-ins because of the snow, and authorities have struggled to provide aid. [Source: Breitbart]

Did Newsom apologize for abandoning his people? Nope, instead he went back to attacking conservatives, tweeting that his state government would no longer do business with Walgreens, after it banned the abortion pill.

Way to get your priorities right, Newsom!
