It seems the “future” of the Democratic Party are people like “socialist” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This so-called socialist seems only concerned with redistributing wealth, as long as it isn’t hers. But she is a radical progressive who wants to destroy our livelihoods and personal sense of safety.
While enjoying private security and other privileges, she has called for the defunding of America’s police departments. Even after we’ve seen how destructive that movement is, AOC continues to demand cops have no funding, training, or equipment–allowing criminals to run free.
Her hometown of NYC has experienced just how foolish defunding cops is. Mayor Adams had to make a drastic move to prevent more cops from quitting. And that has triggered Little Miss I Hate America.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that New York City Mayor Eric Adams was “defunding safety” by increasing police wages for the New York Police Department.
During an interview on “The Daily Show,” the New York Democrat argued it was a mistake for Adams to increase police officer salaries instead of investing the money into public schools and violence prevention programs.
“We’re now at a point where officially, most officers are paid more than a teacher with a master’s degree serving the same kids, involved in the same [violent] incidents,” she argued.
The congresswoman claimed that by cutting investments into community programs and increasing funding for the “militarized” NYPD, leaders were “defunding safety.” [Source: Fox News]
Wow, this woman’s an idiot. AOC whined that New York Mayor Adams had to increase police salaries. This was because the former mayor, radical leftists Bill de Blasio, slashed police funding by over one billion. Things got so bad that a mass exodus was taking place within the NYPD.
Cops were retiring early, taking jobs in other states, or just outright quitting. Adams had to do something to prevent all the cops from leaving. Increasing their salaries is a pretty good start. AOC is mad because some cops are earning more than those leftist union members in public schools.
Good. Cops had a much harder job than entitled teachers who brainwash our children into thinking there are more than two genders.
AOC stupidly claimed that paying cops more was “defunding safety.” Um, no, Alex, you have that backwards. Defunding police departments, slashing their salaries and training, is adding to the crime epidemic.
New York police face unthinkable dangers. They have to put up with criminals, killers, drug dealers, and worse. On top of that, they get slandered by the liberal media constantly, so that even law-abiding citizens hate them. I think a small bump in pay is called for.
Next time AOC is the victim of crime, perhaps she should call one of her precious teachers. See if they’ll help.
