Recently, the prime minister of Ireland traveled to America to meet with Joe Biden. Leo Varadkar, an openly gay man of Indian descent, visited Washington to affirm Biden’s celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Varadkar appeared to support Biden’s rant about Putin and Russia as Joe demanded more U.S. funds to bankroll Ukraine’s war. The Irish leader might have wanted a little bit of Biden’s star power to rub off on him.
Varadkar is a leftist’s leftist, who has pushed radical policies in the traditionally conservative country. But just a few days after visiting America, it looks as if the Biden curse caught up with him. Because the progressive leader just quit his job.
Ireland’s progressive Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has announced he is resigning for “personal and political” reasons, stepping down less than two weeks after he was soundly defeated on a referendum to redefine marriage and the role of women in the nation’s constitution…
The resignation comes less than two weeks after Varadkar and his government allies suffered a massive and unexpected — by them, at least — defeat in a double national referendum this month. Under the proposed changes, marriage would have been redefined as “durable relationships” in the constitution, and protections for women were to be removed as they were claimed to be “sexist”. Despite a perception the government was definitely going to win the votes, they were actually defeated with 67 per cent and 73 per cent against on the two questions…
Irish media reported last year that Varadkar was considering making use of that constitutional change by marrying his long-term partner Matthew Barrett and “welcoming kids” to the family. But those statements came less than a year after the Irish leader faced headlines about him having been filmed “socialising” in a Dublin gay nightclub, which he dismissed as a “personal matter”. Well, what do ya know? The predominately Catholic nation of Ireland elected a far-left progressive to lead them. And less than two years after he enters office, he’s bailing.
This came shortly after he failed to push a radically woke policy that tried to redefine marriages and remove protections for women. Those policies were so wildly unpopular that they failed by huge margins.
Not even a trip to see doddering, senile, corrupt Joe Biden could save Varadkar. It seems everything Joe Biden touches withers and dies. We’ve often seen the “Trump curse” in action. People who openly attack or slander Trump end up facing ill fortune somewhere.
For Biden, it seems to be the opposite. People stupid enough to ally themselves with Joe end up seeing their careers belly up.
I guess that’s a good lesson to learn: stay far away from Joe Biden.
