The world is watching in horror as war breaks out in Israel. Over the last weekend, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel. Not only did they fire thousands of missiles, killing hundreds and wounding many more.
But they also have taken hostages. Reports are currently coming in that the insurgents are threatening to take hostages’s lives. Israel has vowed to hit back hard, in a conflict that could spread across the Middle East.
Donald Trump, while in office, worked tirelessly to bring peace to that region. He is understandably outraged at this unprovoked attack against a close, long-standing U.S. ally. And he is pointing the blame squarely on his political rival, Joe Biden.
These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force. Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration. We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again. Trump is claiming that the $6 billion Biden gave to Iran for American hostages has been used to fund this attack against Israel. Hamas and Iran have both taken credit for what some are calling Israel’s “9/11.”
It appears experts agree Iran is behind this attack. But Democrats will quickly refute Trump’s claim that the Biden administration’s gift of $6 billion had anything to do with this attack. But the State Department just issued a statement that will have many critics talking.
During an interview with NBC News on Saturday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken defended the Biden administration’s decision to unfreeze $6 billion of frozen Iranian funds as part of a prison swap deal in September. He also stated that the Islamic Republic has “always” put money towards funding terroristic operations. [Source: The Post Millennial]
Biden’s Secretary of State tried to defend the administration’s decision to provide $6 billion to Iran. Yet during the same interview, the official admits that Iran “always prioritized” using funds to support terrorism.
Critics will be forced to ask why Biden released this money, if the State Department knew Iran “always” uses its money to fund terrorism. Did the administration not realize this large sum of money would help fuel Iran’s hostile actions against Israel and other U.S. allies?
Biden might find himself in hot water over this growing war. He’s spent billions to defend Ukraine from a hostile invader. But he might have contributed to Iran’s attacks on a trusted ally.
