Americans were shocked when Harvard President Claudine Gay failed to condemn a rising tide of anti-Semitism on her school’s campus. Problems only got worse for the academic, after she was hit with an explosion of plagiarism claims.
Despite Harvard’s board previously standing by the president, it was announced today that she is leaving her post.

It is possible Gay was forced to resign, as the plagiarism scandals only appeared to get worse. Despite leaving in disgrace, many Americans will be upset to learn that she will continue to work for the university… and keep her large salary.

Gay will continue to earn close to $900,000 a year from Harvard, despite being accused of plagiarism. Harvard donors have pulled support from the school after Gay refused to strongly condemn rising anti-Semitism.
It is not clear what steps the school has taken to confront the ample evidence that she plagiarized much of her written work.
Americans, including Harvard alumnus and parents of students, might also become upset by learning both Gay and other progressive activists are blaming this scandal on racism.
Gay informed the Harvard community of her resignation in an email that says it has been “frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.” [Source: Breitbart]
It appears Gay is accusing racism for her fall. Woke activist Ibran X Kendi went even further to defend her.

Kendi claimed the “racist mobs” are working to “topple all Black people from positions of power.” He said this in response to the news that Gay is resigning as president of Harvard. Even X’s fact-checking system contradicted Kendi’s post, pointing to some of Gay’s more egregious acts of plagiarism, including taking half a page of material from another author.
Despite the facts, it is likely that progressive activists will continue to cry racism over Gay’s downfall. Critics will point out the irony, given that Gay’s problems began over her refusal to confront actual acts of racism against Jewish students.
