Fox News showed its true colors last month when it suddenly fired one of its top hosts, Tucker Carlson. Many canceled their subscriptions and stopped watching the network, believing this to be proof that Fox News is as “woke” as any other media outlet.
Tucker fought back, launching a new version of his show on Twitter. Some speculated that Tucker went to Twitter in order to avoid something in his contract with Fox banning him from joining another news outlet. Well, Fox doesn’t even like Carlson on Twitter–and they are playing dirty.
Fox News has sent a “cease and desist” letter to Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson as the contract dispute between the two parties heats up, Axios reported Monday…
Fox News previously accused Carlson on Wednesday of breaching his contract by violating its non-compete clause when he posted the first episode of his new Twitter show…
Carlson aired the first two episodes of his Twitter competitor last week and obtained over 169 million viewers on the platform. The first episode of his show aired Tuesday and received over 100 million views in two days. [Source: Daily Caller]
It seems like Fox is just jealous Carlson is bringing in more viewers on Twitter than he ever did on Fox. Probably proves that Carlson is much better off not working for the corporate media company. The network, which is proving to be more and more leftist with each day, sent a vile letter demanding Tucker stop.
Tucker’s lawyers have accused Fox News of breaching its contract with Tucker. And now, they are saying Fox is trying to clamp down on his First Amendment rights by trying to stop him from using Twitter.
Fox might be able to keep Tucker off traditional television, but you’d be hard pressed to prove they can just outright silence him online. Years ago, when NBC fired late night host Conan O’Brien, they banned him from appearing on TV for months. But they never dared try to stop him from using Twitter.
Is Fox News a bigger enemy to free speech than NBC? That’s pretty devastating to think, right? Millions of Americans supported Fox News over the years because they thought the network was the only one speaking the truth.
But for the company to go so far as to silence Carlson, erasing his First Amendment rights? How is that going to look to viewers?
