Trump Announces GOP Debate Plans – This Move Could Steal Dem Voters

Donald Trump surprised voters when he announced he was not attending the first Republican presidential debate. He pointed to his large lead in most GOP polls, explaining he didn’t need to debate candidates far behind him. He used that time to be interviewed by Tucker Carlson; the video garnered millions of views in a matter of days.

This month, the GOP will host their second presidential debate. There are probably Republican voters eager to know if Trump will attend, to perhaps answer questions on abortion and other issues he’s recently discussed. Trump officially announced he was skipping the debate. Instead, he plans a move that could steal millions of voters from the Democratic Party.

Former President Donald Trump will appear with striking union members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) in Detroit, Michigan, as his opponents squabble for the spotlight on the debate stage on September 27, according to a report that multiple sources have confirmed to Breitbart News…

The GOP frontrunner will deliver a “prime-time speech before current and former union members,” according to the Times, as they strike for higher wages following 40-year-high inflation and seek commitments from automakers and the federal government that Biden’s electrical vehicle agenda will not threaten their jobs or pay, as Breitbart News has documented. Donald Trump will not attend the next GOP debate on September 27th. According to reports, he will instead go to Detroit, Michigan and join auto workers who are currently on strike. The former president will reportedly give a prime-time speech before current and past UAW members.

The auto workers went on strike for the first time in history. Negotiations over a new contract broke down, as workers demanded higher pay to compensate for rampant inflation. Auto workers also want commitments from automakers, in light of the Biden administration’s push for more EVs.

Electric cars require fewer workers, which could lead to massive layoffs.

This move by Donald Trump could have Biden and other Democrats worried. Labor unions have long backed Democrats. Biden relied on auto workers and other blue-collar Americans in 2020. But his policies have appeared to hurt working Americans the most, as runaway inflation has resulted in a pay decrease for many of them.

Trump has previously sought to win the voters or long-serving Democrat blocs. He appealed to black voters in 2016. Now, he seems to be seeking a wedge between entrenched liberal-voting unions and the Democratic Party.
